MOOR is the concept store Gueliz was waiting for without knowing it. Set in a minimalist space on Rue Mohammed V, it took the opposite approach from the souk: few products, heavy curation, zero visual noise. Here, every piece is displayed like a work of art — with space around it, light, and a label that tells its story.
The selection oscillates between Moroccan creators and international designers, with an aesthetic coherence that reads like a manifesto. Linen and cotton garments, clean cuts, muted colors — the kind of pieces you'll wear for ten years. Accessories in vegetable-tanned leather, sometimes crafted in medina workshops. Decorative objects — ceramics, candles, trays — that transform an interior without overcrowding it.
MOOR's founders are two Moroccans who returned from abroad with a clear vision: show that Moroccan design could exist without the cliches — without zellige on everything, without the "riad" palette of terracotta and cobalt blue. The result is a space that could be in Berlin, Tokyo, or Copenhagen, but could exist nowhere else but Marrakech — because the artisans and raw materials are here.
Prices reflect the quality and positioning: an organic cotton t-shirt between 300 and 500 dirhams, a ceramic between 200 and 800 dirhams, a leather bag between 800 and 2,000 dirhams. It's not cheap, but every piece justifies its price through craftsmanship and longevity.
The clientele is a mix of Gueliz residents with sharp aesthetic sense, travelers seeking unique pieces, and fashion professionals on scouting trips.
MOOR earns its place because it elevated the Marrakech concept store to international level — without sacrificing its Moroccan identity.
